Out with old
all of it? Nah, just some of it
12.31.04 - 10:18 am (CT)
As the New Year blasts its way through all of the clutter
, the old axiom, "Out with the old and in with the new" is definitely appropriate for some of us. Don't get me wrong, I'm not looking to get rid of all of the old, as there's some of the old stuff that I'd like to hang on to I just need to prune the rose bush that I call my life.
Take a little off here and a little off there, all the while being careful where and what I prune off, so I don't 'cut short' the rest of what I expect to be my very long life
. If you never prune a rose bush or you just hack away at it, you'll probably end up with either a scraggly thorny mess with few if any flowers or one dead bush, but if you prune a rose bush just right, it will not only produce beautiful flowers, but will be stronger and thrive for years, if not decades, to come.
With that thought, this glass-half-full person
wishes you all a Happy New Year and may you prune your life just right, so it thrives and produces the most beautiful blossoms you've ever seen and while you're at it, don't forget to stop and smell the roses!
Pushing "crtl alt del" to clear your mind
12.29.04 - 10:59 am (CT)
I'm thinking that maybe, just maybe, I'll be clearing my mind fairly soon, so I can be more productive on all fronts. It's too bad my mind isn't more like a computer, so I could just push "crtl alt del" and then restart the darn thing, but it's not I guess I'll just have to work my way through it all the old-fashioned way
by clearing one thing at a time until I can 'restart' my life.
Gee, a little sci-fi here at MindBlog
and a cool passing thought to boot, not a doable one, but cool nonetheless. Okay, so it's a little out of character for me
okay, so it's a lot out of character for me, but
not to worry folks, I haven't lost my mind, it's somewhere here in the clutter, I just have to find where I misplaced it.
Oh, there it is over there by the
no, that was something totally unrelated, it just looked like my mind, but wasn't
gee, now where did I put that darn thing well, if someone out there knows where it is or finds it, could you please let me know where it is or just return it A.S.A.P.? Thank you.
Have yourself a merry, whatever size Christmas
12.25.04 - 12:25 pm (CT)
From all of us here at MindBlog to all of you
may you all be (as we are) home for the holidays and be having yourself a very
And whether it is little, big, or inbetween, may it be a blessed day for all!
No brag, just fact
12.22.04 - 7:53 pm (CT)
Not that I'm bragging, BUT
at the local junior college, which is definitely not bad for someone who hadn't taken a real test since 1973 when I took state and national boards to become a Registered Dental Hygienist
yes, not bad at all.
Now, the question is, can I put what I learned to good use here or anywhere else? Well yes I can, because if nothing else, I now have a better understanding of what I'm doing when I goof around with scripts that others have written. And now I can write (very) simple scripts to do very simple tasks, so I will build on that knowledge to do some recreational scripting, which is about the same as recreational coding (i.e. playing around with scripts/code for the fun of it).
, while I'm not bragging, the group project
that I knocked myself out on for that class well, I managed to eek out an "A+" on that one, which is another 'not bad' for this Pageminding MindBlogger.
Blah, blah, blah
the next great (or not so great) thought
12.16.04 - 8:24 am (CT)
that's what I use to fill empty spaces that I soon hope to fill whether it's here at MindBlog, an answer to an essay question, or in my mind "blah" leaves plenty of thinking room for the next great (or not so great) thought. I swiped the idea from my sister, Deb at HelpQuest
, but the reasoning behind using it is strictly my own.
And it's not that I'm a blah person, but there have been a lot of blah spaces in my life and mind lately, but I'm working on filling them up with great thoughts and doings I guess you could say that I have 'great expectations' for those blah areas, however the proof of that will not be in the pudding, but in the results.
"None of the above" might have been the answer
12.14.04 - 9:39 pm (CT)
It was a process of elimination as to what the answer was, as none of them were inspiring: "None of the above" might have been the answer, but probably wasn't, "All of the above" was also a possibility, but was highly unlikely, and "A" and "B" were sort of okay, but I decided to go with "C", as out of the lot, it was the most likely.
Gee, I wish I could have remembered what someone told me way back when about the most used answer in a multiple choice test, but I couldn't, so I stuck with "C". Was I right? I don't know, but I got an A on the test, so who cares
T R U T H
conformity to reality or actuality
12.10.04 - 5:42 pm (CT)

Another 'beary' auspicious and remarkable day
12.04.04 - 1:30 pm (CT)
Well, well, well, my youngest son, little 6'4" Billy Bear, is a whopping 22 years old today!
Hey Bill, only four more years till the cells start dying faster than they re-create
but that still gives you two extra years over Jon, and well, Rob is already over-the-hill cell-wise, so make the best of your cells while you've got them! Just don't kill them (your cells that is) prematurely with too much celebratory libations!
For those who might be wondering about the "Bear" part of Bill, well he was a very large baby not fat, just, like I said, very large and when you combine that with his name being the same as, at the time, the last winning quarterback on the Chicago Bears, you end up with a nickname like, well, Bear. Anyway, on this 'beary' auspicious and remarkable day, this Mom gives a great big MindBlog
Well, la di da
smarter, cuter, and smaller
12.01.04 - 12:03 pm (CT)
Well, la di da
aren't we smart
aren't we cute
aren't we getting small
well, in fact, la di da, yes we are we are getting closer and closer to that Body by Mary Jo
, so a very big TA DA for me!!! We (as in the royal one) are moving down another size in the jeans (as in pants) department, which makes for a 5-size reduction
in a little (oh, I like that word, little, yes, that's getting to be me
little Jeane) over a year! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, that's right, although I'm a little (oh, there's that word again) behind (that, too) schedule, I am still continuing to reduce the size of me
, which was a very smart move on my part and, quite frankly, makes me even cuter than I was before. So yeah, LA DI DA, I am smarter, I am cuter, and I am smaller
la di da la di da la di da la di da la di da la di da
